  1. Financial wellbeing

Money Works

Money Works is a programme that exists to promote financial wellbeing in the workplace for employees and apprentices across Scotland.

A growing body of evidence shows that anxiety about finances leads to worse mental, physical and social wellbeing, which can affect attendance and performance at work.

Our programme aims to improve employee wellbeing by providing information and guidance on products and helping staff to develop both immediate and lasting financial capability strategies.

We design custom workshops and work with employers to meet the needs of their staff.

Possible topics include:

  • Planning for retirement
  • Day-to-day financial management
  • In-work benefits
  • Savings (including emergency funds, ISAs, saving for a deposit)
  • Insurance (including life insurance)
  • Student loan repayments
  • Managing credit card debt
  • Understanding taxes and payslips

What our participants say:

The workshop was amazing! I’ve learnt so much and I felt confident to share some personal information with Marlena who was running it.
There was so much information in this session that I was completely unaware of, I think that everyone should receive some financial education in some sort of capacity, starting from teen years & upwards.  I'm in the older demographic but a lot of this information was new to me.  I very much appreciated this session, thank you very much!
Thank you very much. This was extremely useful as I am planning to apply for a mortgage in the next day or so. This was very much appreciated!
I thought it was great! Very informative and one of the best courses I’ve been on.
