Financial wellbeing is all about feeling secure and in control of your money; however, the financial implications of the coronavirus situation has made that more difficult than ever. It’s likely that the financial impact of coronavirus will be felt for some time after the public health emergency eases, so it’s important to think about how we can help safeguard our financial wellbeing in the long-run.

In line with a focus on overall wellbeing, our financial capability team has created two new series of webinars.

Money Works

Financial capability webinars for employees and apprentices across Scotland

This new webinar series aims to promote financial wellbeing at work and improve employee wellbeing by providing information and guidance on financial products as well as helping staff to develop both immediate and lasting financial capability strategies.

Anxiety about finances leads to worse mental, physical, and social wellbeing which can affect attendance and performance at work. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that money worries were the biggest source of stress for UK employees, which have undoubtedly been exacerbated by the coronavirus situation.

The first session will be hosted via Zoom on 9 June and will cover budgeting. Following sessions will each focus on different topics.

Financial Wellbeing

Webinars open to anyone who wants to improve their financial wellbeing

Our new Financial Wellbeing webinar series is available to anyone who wants to learn more about financial wellbeing. The aim of these sessions is to increase people’s confidence, improve their money management, and enhance their ability to take control of their finances, as well as providing important updates on policy changes related to the current Covid-19 situation and the support available.

The first session will be hosted via zoom on 11 June and will cover budgeting. Following sessions will each focus on different topics.

Both series of webinars will offer participants the chance to learn more about a financial topic each session, hosted by our financial capability team, who throughout 2019/20  delivered 759 workshops to 17,550 individuals in workplaces, colleges, schools, and in the community across Scotland.
