Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a simple way to increase the value of your donation to Money Advice Scotland without it costing you anything extra.

Make your donation go further

If you're eligible and choose to Gift Aid your donation, Money Advice Scotland can claim an additional 25p from HMRC for every £1 you donate.

That means:

  • £10 becomes £12.50

  • £20 becomes £25

  • £50 becomes £62.50

  • £100 becomes £125

Gift Aid therefore increases the value of an eligible donation by 25%, at no additional cost to you.

  • Am I eligible for Gift Aid?

You can add Gift Aid to your donation if you pay enough UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed by all charities you donate to in that tax year. You’ll also need to complete a Gift Aid declaration.

If you pay less tax than the amount claimed, you’re responsible for paying the difference.

Unsure whether you qualify? Check the official GOV.UK guidance before making your declaration.

  • How do I add Gift Aid?

When you make a donation through our online KindLink donation page, you'll be given the option to confirm that you want to Gift Aid your donation.

Simply complete the Gift Aid declaration as part of the donation process if you're eligible.
