Policy and Communications
We work to be a strong voice for consumers, people experiencing debt and the money advice sector in Scotland.
Our Policy & Communications team uses evidence, research and the experiences of money advisers and people with lived experience to identify emerging issues, influence policy and advocate for fairer outcomes
Advocating for the advice sector
We work with government, policymakers, partners and the wider advice sector to ensure the challenges facing people in debt and those delivering money advice are understood and reflected in decision-making.
Our research helps build the evidence for change. This includes our State of the Nation Report, which examines the pressures facing Scotland’s money and debt advice sector, including rising demand for support and the challenges experienced by frontline advisers and their clients.
We also use our evidence and insight to set out clear priorities for change
Our 2026 Scottish Parliament manifesto priorities focus on strengthening the free money advice sector, improving outcomes for people in debt and promoting financial wellbeing.
Through our policy, research and communications work, we aim to raise awareness of the issues affecting people across Scotland, challenge stigma and help shape fairer policy and practice.
