Strategies for successful Mentorship

Synopsis:

This half day course is aimed at mentors enrolled in the Money Advice Scotland mentorship scheme. It is also open to other money advisers with at least three years' experience in the sector. Please note this course is free of charge to mentors enrolled in the MASTrain mentorship scheme

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to support participants to develop and maintain the skills they need to be effective mentors.

Topics include:

 - The role and responsibilities of a mentor;
 - Listening and interpersonal skills;
 - Coaching and mentoring techniques;
 - Setting boundaries; and dealing with problems.

Course level: Experienced

Additional details:

 - This course will start at 13.15p.m. and finish at 16.15p.m.
 - Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be served
 - This course is free of charge for participants in the mentorship scheme

Applications

  • Confirmation of your application being successful in securing a place on the training course will be sent to you by email approximately 7 days prior to the date of the event.
  • Money Advice Scotland cannot acknowledge receipt of all application forms, however if you wish to confirm that your application form has been received please contact a member of the Training & Support Team on 0141 572 0237.
  • While Money Advice Scotland always endeavour to be as fair as possible in the allocation of training places, the final allocation of places will be at the discretion of Money Advice Scotland.

Expenses

  • If any expenses are to be repaid by Money Advice Scotland, valid VAT receipts must be provided to ensure reimbursement.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be sent by email to Money Advice Scotland (info@moneyadvicescotland.org.uk) no later than three days prior to the date of the event where an admin fee of £20 will be charged.
  • Any changes to the original application will incur an admin fee of £20.
  • Money Advice Scotland reserves the right to cancel any course at any time in the event of low take up or any other valid reason.
