We have appointed four new Trustees to our board. John Poole, Karen Fraser, Fergus Reid and Michael Cooper have all joined as independent Non-executive Directors. This comes at a time of modernising the governance arrangements at Money Advice Scotland.

 John Poole, Chair of Money Advice Scotland commented:

 “I am delighted to have been offered the opportunity to join, and chair, the MAS Board. It is clear many more people may find themselves in a distressed financial state as a result of Covid-19. However, I have been very impressed at the determination everyone at MAS has already shown in adapting our services to meet the challenges posed by the pandemic. I am confident we are well-placed to assist Scotland in improving financial inclusion and strengthening personal financial resilience in the future.”

 Yvonne MacDermid OBE, Chief Executive of Money Advice Scotland commented: “I am delighted to welcome John, Karen, Fergus and Michael to the Board of Trustees. They are joining Christine Sinclair, Mark Law, Thomas Lynas, Ged Mulvey, Anna Hamilton and Rona Rodger who are involved in the debt advice sector, and bring significant experience of the debt landscape in Scotland. At the recent meetings John Poole was appointed as Chair, and Christine Sinclair, and Karen Fraser as Vice Chairs.
