Money Advice Scotland becomes an accredited Living Wage Employer

To coincide with Living Wage Week 2015 (1st to 7th November 2015), Money Advice Scotland (MAS) is delighted to announce its accreditation as a Scottish Living Wage Employer.

Commenting on the news, Yvonne MacDermid, Chief Executive at Money Advice Scotland, said:

‘Money Advice Scotland is delighted to join the growing number of responsible Living Wage employers in Scotland.

Money Advice Scotland has paid all staff above the Living Wage for a number of years and we were keen to enshrine this commitment in time for this year’s Living Wage Week.

The majority of working age adults and children in poverty now live in households where someone is working so there is a responsibility on employers to pay a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.

I am pleased that Money Advice Scotland will join more than 300 Living Wage Employers across Scotland who are signed up to the pledge.

At Money Advice Scotland, we recognise the responsibility on employers and we will wear our Living Wage Employer Mark with pride in the months and years ahead.’

Money Advice Scotland recently made a submission to the Low Pay Commission on the UK Government’s proposal for a National Living Wage. You can read our submission here:
