Funeral Poverty Survey
Recent reports by BBC Local Radio noted that the cost of public health funerals had increased by almost 30% in the last four years. In Scotland, the 24% rise in the cost of public health funerals since 2009/10 was the second fastest of anywhere in the UK.
With an average funeral now costing £3,550 in Scotland, money and debt advisers across the country are being met with clients who are unable to afford the escalating cost of bereavement and the debt that this so often brings to some of the most vulnerable people at an already difficult time.
Money Advice Scotland is interested to determine how funeral poverty affects money advisers and their clients and we would be grateful for your participation in the our survey.
